Job Description

This position is responsible for the accounting functions, including the preparation, review and audit of internal and external reporting, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and Security and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) regulations. This may include month-end close processes related to preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX Controls, Financial Statements as well as the support of audits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists leadership in coordinating and managing the monthly accounting cycle, ensuring the consolidation, analysis and preparation of financial statements are completed timely and accurately and in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Reconciles KGEN and CSS related balance sheet accounts related to revenue. Investigates/resolves variances and reconciling items on a timely basis. Assists in review of reconciliations prepared by staff.
  • Prepares and records KGEN and CSS monthly journal entries and assist in monthly GL close process. Assist in review of monthly journal entries prepared by staff.
  • Maintains and contributes to a strong internal control environment by utilizing and documenting advanced technology (Alteryx and SQLs).
  • Proactively identifies process improvement opportunities related to KGEN and CSS billing systems and journal entries.
  • Uses accounting systems to generate reports, respond to inquiries, conduct research, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. This will include using new technology to automate report generation to streamline processes.
  • Researches technical accounting guidance and prepares related policies or memos, as needed.
    Assists in ad hoc projects related to accounting systems and/or process improvement initiates.

  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting, reporting matters, and GAAP.

  • Demonstrate strong ability to use new and advanced technology.

Additonal Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5-7 years of related experience (included Big 4 experience) required.
