Senior Visual Designers are part of the creative services team and are expected to have expert-level design and production skills. In a Mac environment, must be a master of Adobe Creative Cloud – specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and know the correct use cases for each visual design program. Must also be adaptive and able to learn and use new software and understand its uses and limitations, such as Sketch and Figma. Within the Emburse organization, visual designers are expected to understand and adhere to brand standards. With direction, visual designers may also concept and develop these brand standards. Senior Visual Designers typically hold a BFA and have a well-developed design portfolio that exhibits their experience with design and color theories, typographic design, photography and videography direction, video editing, website design, experiential and event design, as well as digital asset design, and various print collateral designs, etc. They must be hungry to learn, grow, and develop their skill sets and must be able to mentor other team members. They must have a wide array of both print and digital experiences and be open to constant development. They are an integral part of the marketing team and must be able to conceive and develop new ideas, but also be familiar with best practices. They work cross-functionally and are responsible for upholding the brand and all related visuals. They must work collaboratively with the content team, understand how to present their work and their thinking, and must be comfortable with constructive criticism and feedback.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead design for multiple platforms including digital, web, offset and digital printing, and large format
  • Design and update all PowerPoint presentations including those used in sales presentations, webinars, and live events
  • Actively participate in and share ideas during strategy and ideation sessions
  • Design concepts for internal and external branding initiatives, campaigns, and events based on creative briefs and team meetings
  • Work closely with other Visual Designers, Content Marketers, and Director, Creative to ensure all materials are on-brand and saved in the correct format
  • Work cross-functionally with Managers and Directors on initiatives as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the product design team on branded initiatives
  • Concept, design and produce infographics, website and landing pages, event booths and presences, swag, icons and illustrations, typographic design solutions, social graphics, eBooks, surveys, whitepapers, case studies, datasheets, reports, ad campaigns, digital ads, email banners, presentations, social media ads, environmental design, and other print and digital assets as needed
  • Maintain brand standards for all web and print work, matching to brand colors and design
  • Concept and develop brand guidelines under the direction of the Director, Creative
  • Mentor other visual designers and lead creative sessions

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant certifications plus equivalent industry experience
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree
  • 7+ years of experience with corporate print and web graphic design
  • Diverse portfolio/professional experience, including at least 3 years in tech/B2B marketing
  • Expert understanding of design theory, color theory, and typography
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud as well as Sketch and/or Figma with an understanding of when to use each program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Expert in Google Suite, including experience using Google Slides
  • Organized and efficient, with great attention to detail and the ability to develop and maintain folder structure on Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
  • Experience directing photography and videography, as well as sourcing stock photography that aligns with brand standards and vision
  • Uses typography as a form of visual design expression
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work, with the ability to proofread, spell check, and review all work before routing
  • Meets deadlines consistently without compromising quality/brand standards while working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple high priority projects simultaneously and successfully
  • Approaches work with a mature and professional attitude that is an example to others both in the department and in the company in general
  • Complete understanding of color theory and colorways/breakdowns including RGB, CMYK, HSB, PMS and use cases for each as well as file types and use cases/formats
  • Understanding of entire creative process and ability to help reshape creative process as needed
  • Experience directing other designers and concepting large campaigns with the ability to clearly articulate thoughts and expectations
  • Understanding of the industry and how to present thoughts to clients in a digestible manner
  • Ability to manage design projects from beginning to end, considering direction from the Director, client feedback, and input from other team members
  • Possesses impeccable time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects and project requests against the company and team goals
  • Must demonstrate a high level of design competency, with the ability to distinguish when to recycle a concept and when a new creative direction is needed
  • Strong business acumen
