What is the Role?

You'll be the Head of Legal & Compliance at Solid. 

Who does this role report to?

Raghav Lal, President at Solid. Raghav was Chief Credit Officer at AMEX and GM of Small Business at VISA.

Top 10 responsibilities & accountabilities:

  1. Refine and manage Solid’s comprehensive compliance policies across eco–system constituents; clients, vendors and strategic partners.
  2. Own BSA/AML compliance related processes and enforcement on Solid client programs: initial certification and ongoing monitoring.
  3. Setup and manage a highly scalable and comprehensive client certification process to comply with Solid client certification requirements.
  4. Engage with vendor (e.g., banks, network etc) peers to present, collaborate , and resolve compliance specific issues pertaining to Solid client programs.
  5. Serve as in–house counsel on all aspects of banking, cards and contract negotiations and redlines.
  6. Manage all Solid legal contracts across the eco–system of clients, vendors, and strategic partners.
  7. Ensure Solid and its clients are operating regulated products & services in a statutory and contractually compliant manner.
  8. Collaborate internally with Solid sales teams to continually improve client contract drafts to ensure legal compliance while driving towards reduced client redlines/review cycles.
  9. Proactively monitor and address any real or perceived violations of regulatory obligations.
  10. Engage with external legal & compliance experts, as needed, to ensure Solid compliance policies are up to date.

What do I need to excel in this role?

  • 3-5 years experience in legal and compliance for a fintech or financial services company, preferably enterprise B2B company.
  • Detailed understanding of the fintech ecosystem and platform business model.
  • Demonstrated success at a startup or high-growth environment.
  • High ownership and drive. You own your outcomes, are highly self-motivated, with an entrepreneurial mindset, and are driven to improve.
  • Execution in ambiguity. You’re comfortable and thrive in fast-changing environments.
